Here’s a little post about the way I conceive video content for customers. Recently I’ve been working as a freelance video maker for different events and I’m happy to share my know-how and best-practices in video making with you. If you need video content for your company or yourself, I can help you with that. Feel free to reach out.
- Clarify customer demand: When contacted by a customer on LinkedIn I usually prefer calling the person to discuss further details like the kind of video content needed (format, duration, style, genre). After these parameters have been fixed I fix a shooting date or check my agenda if the event is set already.
- Establishing an offer: Based on the demands and needs of a customer I write an offer with an estimation of the time I will need to realize a specific project.
- Preparation of my gear: I usually shoot with my iPhone Pro, DJI collar-microphones, a stabilizer or tripod. This very light gear allows me to move freely and discretely between interviewees / actors. If a higher image quality or special devices like drones are needed for a shooting I’m happy to rent them at Kulturbüro Bern.
- Video shoot: On the day of the video shoot I make sure to be super alert and responsive to the customer’s needs. I also let some space for improvisation and calculate some extra time because we all know: You can’t plan everything! Nevertheless, to avoid stress during the shoot, a thorough preparation is a must.
- Post-production: I’m a very quick editor but of course it always depends on the amount of footage that was shot and how many videos have been ordered. For a minute of video content I usually need half an hour or maximum an hour for a perfect edit. If additional things like sound design, colour grading or music are needed, I usually work with other specialized freelancers.
I hope these 5 points gave you some insights in my daily work routine and I’d be happy to create appealing and creative Video Content for you!
